Marissa Mayer was born in Wausau on May 30, 1975. After graduation, she attended the National Youth Science Camp in West Virginia and at the end of her studies she graduated with honors in symbolic systems in 1993 and later obtained a major in computer science from Stanford University. She was CEO of Yahoo! from 2012 to 2017, after being the first female engineer hired by Google and one of the company's top twenty employees, from which she had been hired since June 1999.
